An Inspiring Week in India

Martijn Hollewand, football coach and head of youth scouting at PEC Zwolle, travelled to India together with Emma, a student of psychology, to deliver a coaching course that reaches beyond the game. Their goal was both simple and meaningful: to share knowledge, to build skills, and to leave behind something that lasts.

Football as a tool for growth

The course brought together students, sport coaches, football coaches and physical education teachers. From the very first session, it was clear that the week was about more than tactics and technique. Life skills such as communication, responsibility and resilience were woven into every part of the programme.

This combination defines the approach of Collective Minds Foundation. What children learn on the football pitch can shape them just as profoundly as anything they learn in a classroom.

Visiting schools and meeting children

During the week, Martijn and Emma visited several government schools in the region. For many of the children they met, it was the first time they received this kind of structured coaching and personal guidance. These schools will remain part of the ongoing projects of Collective Minds Foundation, which means the impact of the week continues long after the journey home.

Building local capacity

By investing in coaches and educators, Collective Minds Foundation helps to create change from within. A well-trained coach reaches dozens of children every year, and it is this ripple effect that lays the foundation for lasting impact.

We extend our sincere thanks to PEC Zwolle and the KNVB for making this week possible. Their expertise and commitment allow us to bring guidance and opportunity to places where both remain scarce.
