Policy Collective Minds – Bringing Change through Sport and Education 2024

Introduction
This policy plan is a structured framework for implementing effective, sustainable sports and education projects targeting underprivileged children in Africa and Asia. Our primary goal is to enhance children’s sports and educational skills, committing to promote holistic development encompassing physical, social, and emotional aspects. The aim is to expand and enrich the life opportunities of these children.

Mission
Our mission is to stimulate the potential of underprivileged children in Asia and Africa through the transformative power of sport and education. We are unwavering in our dedication to fostering a better, more promising future for these children, equipping them with academic, athletic, and essential life skills by providing access to education and sports. Our mission extends to nurturing coaches who have a lasting impact on these children, reinforcing our commitment to Asia, Africa, and Europe.

Vision
Our vision is a harmonious and inclusive society where underprivileged children in Africa and Asia can access education and sports opportunities, enabling them to realise their full potential. Through the synergy of education, football, skilled coaches, teachers, and psychologists, we aim to catalyse a profound and lasting positive transformation in the lives of these children, equipping them with the essential tools and skills to unlock their boundless potential.

Values

Inclusion
At the core of our mission is inclusion. We strongly believe in providing equal opportunities to underprivileged children, regardless of background, to participate actively in education and sports. We are committed to an environment where every child gets a chance and is actively encouraged to participate and have fun. We promote social connections and nurture new friendships.
We are committed to a culture that appreciates and respects the uniqueness of each child, wholeheartedly embracing diversity as an essential aspect of our work.

Empowerment
At the core, we are committed to empowerment. We aim to instil in children the unwavering belief that they can overcome any obstacle. We provide them with the tools to strengthen their confidence and self-esteem through education and sports. Our approach promotes personal growth, resilience, and self-awareness, making each child more assertive, self-assured, and ready to overcome life’s challenges.

Target Audience
The primary target audience comprises children (10-16 years) and youth, with particular attention to vulnerable groups and girls. Parents, teachers, football coaches, and local community leaders are also involved for broader support and sustainable impact.

Objectives of Our Programs

Sports Development
The main goal of our football program is to provide children with a platform where they can develop their football skills and essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, problem-solving, and discipline. This program aims to empower children and coaches, strengthen their confidence, and motivate them to pursue their dreams.

Education
Sport is a powerful instrument to provide educational opportunities. In addition to physical skills, we aim to help children grow academically, offering them digital and physical education and teaching them essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, discipline, and problem-solving. These programs align with local curriculum needs and standards. By integrating sports into the education curriculum, learning can become more engaging.

Poverty Alleviation
Through education and sports, children can acquire skills and knowledge that help them break out of the cycle of poverty. Thanks to our collaborating NGO, we provide access to academic support and life skills to stimulate growth and development. Through coach training and education programs, we create opportunities for meaningful employment.

Community Engagement:
We can tailor these programs to their needs and culture by collaborating with local communities. Organising community events and workshops help raise awareness and increase engagement. We foster an environment where children receive unwavering support and encouragement from coaches, mentors, parents, and teammates. Through the community, we inspire and empower children to thrive in sports and all aspects of life.

Partnerships and International Collaboration
To implement our projects, it is essential to collaborate with local and international NGOs, governments, educational institutions, and businesses. We can ensure support and sustainability through this global collaboration of leaders and decision-makers.

Sustainability and Growth
Our commitment extends beyond immediate educational and sports achievements. We are committed to promoting self-sufficiency in projects through local capacity building. We are expanding successful programs to new regions and countries in Africa and Asia. We are constantly engaged in innovation and adaptation to changing circumstances and needs, ensuring the positive change we create will persist far into the future.

Monitoring and Evaluation
In collaboration with the NGO, a monitoring and evaluation system will be implemented to measure the progress and impact of the programs. By holding scheduled feedback sessions with participants and partners, we can identify strengths and areas for improvement.
With these objectives, we provide a broad framework that we strive to follow to improve the lives of underprivileged children in Africa and Asia through sports and education.

Fundraising
The foundation will use various sources to achieve its financial goals for stability and sustainability. These costs will be reasonably proportional to the expenditures for the foundation’s goals. By developing a fundraising strategy, we will raise funds from private donations, corporate partnerships, government grants, organising events and campaigns, involving volunteers in fundraising activities, and online fundraising.

Management and Use of Funds
The board is responsible for managing the foundation’s assets. Most of the budget is allocated to the foundation’s programs and activities. Collective Minds has a non-profit purpose, as stated in the statutes. Financial management costs include accounting, audit, and financial management expenses to ensure effective budget management and accountability. An annual budget and plan are created, and the financial statements will be published before April 1.

We will only hold reasonably necessary assets to ensure the continuity of the anticipated activities for Collective Minds. This reserve will be reserved for unexpected costs and contingencies. By the statutes, a remaining liquidation balance will be allocated to an ANBI or a foreign institution with a purpose similar to the foundation’s.

Board and Compensation
Our board currently consists of 3 members, and we do not have staff employed by the foundation. According to our statutes, board members do not receive vacation allowances for their board activities. Board members voluntarily contribute their time, expertise, and energy to support and realise the foundation’s goals. However, compensation will occur if a board member performs executive tasks for the foundation’s goals.

Volunteers
Collective Minds has a policy for expense reimbursement for volunteers incurring costs during their volunteer work. The goal is to ensure that volunteering is accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation. Receipts or invoices must support declarations of reimbursement. Limits may be set on the amount claimed per day or activity. Expense reimbursements are only intended to cover actual and incurred costs and should not be seen as income.

Compensation for External Parties
Contractual agreements are made for external parties such as consultants, freelancers, or other service providers. These agreements include details about the services and the agreed-upon compensation. Rates may vary depending on expertise, the nature of the work, and market standards. Compensation must be fair and reasonable, especially as

Third-Party Fees
Contractual agreements are established with external entities such as consultants, independent contractors, or other service providers. These contracts specify the scope of services and the fees agreed upon. The rates for these services may fluctuate based on the level of expertise, the nature of the tasks, and prevailing market rates. These expenses must remain reasonable and congruent with market norms, especially considering that the organisation is funded primarily through donations and grants.

Program 2024
Our inaugural project in India commences this year. This initiative will offer a football coaching program to local coaches in collaboration with a renowned football academy in India. An NGO, already active and well-acquainted with the local community, will administer the educational aspect of the program. Children will have the opportunity to engage in both football training and educational pursuits. Furthermore, the program includes mental health support services for the children, provided by qualified psychologists.
